The goal in developing the Oakley Jawbreaker was to create the ultimate sports glasses. All important aspects should be reconciled: maximum field of vision, protection of the eyes, ventilation of the glasses and adaptability. To achieve these goals, the glasses were developed and tested right from the start with Mark Cavendish, one of the most famous cyclists of our time. Eye tracking tests brought new knowledge about the optimal glass and frame shape to expand the field of vision of the athlete. As the upper part of the lens is used more and more, especially in cycling, due to the sitting position, adjustments were made here, which were also applied to the Radar EV. Ventilation openings were made in the glass on both the upper and lower edge of the glass to optimize the air flow behind the glass and to minimize fogging of the glass. The temples are adjustable and offer 3 positions for optimal adaptation to the shape of the head and helmet.
Of course, a comfortable way of changing glasses quickly and conveniently was also developed for these glasses. Fold the nose pads up - unhook the metal clip - move the nose pads back into place - move the lower frame arch down - remove the glass - done.
The Jawbreaker carries the Oakley Spirit of the first glasses models into the modern age and combines them with the latest technology and makes them the perfect glasses for athletes in a wide range of sports.
Oakley Switchlock
The new technology enables quick and easy replacement of the lenses. the practical quick-release system helps (the upper part of the frame can be swiveled) so that the glasses can be removed and replaced within a few seconds.
O Matter® frame material
This light and comfortable, but also extremely resistant frame material is particularly characterized by its optimal protection and flexible fit.
Unobtainium®
Temple ends which are coated with this material have a stronger hold of the glasses with increased perspiration. Thus, the glasses are secure and secure at all times.
High Definition Optics® (hdo®)
The patented innovative process achieves unique optical accuracy and quality. A wide selection of optional lens colors enables a reliable reduction of glare effects, better color perception, a stronger contrast and an optimized depth perception. The optionally available Oakley polarizing lenses block disruptive glare, without the side effects such as clouding and distortion that are so disruptive with ordinary polarized lenses.
Hydrophobic lens coating
The Oakley Hydrophobic ™ lens coating also contributes to high wearing comfort and optical accuracy. It repels dust and forms a barrier against dirt caused by the natural fat film on the skin, fingerprints, lotions and sunscreen. Even water rolls off, so that there are no undesirable streaks and shiny spots. The shock resistance, both against high-speed and high-mass impacts, meets all the requirements of the ansi standard z87.1.
XYZ Optics®
The use of these glasses improves the view in the peripheral areas of the glasses, while the sides of the glasses offer improved protection from the sun, wind and side impacts.
Plutonite®
The lens material Plutonite® filters out 100% of UVA, UVB and UVC radiation, as well as harmful blue light components in the range up to 400 nm.
PRIZM Road Jade
PRIZM Road glasses make it easier for you to see even minor changes in the road conditions so that you can react faster and achieve top performance. The rose base lens with jade mirroring increases the contrast, eliminates 85% of the ambient light and filters 100% of the UVA, UVB and UVC light.
